Dr. Julie Hwang, PsyD, MFT

Dr. Julie Hwang is a licensed marital and family therapist and a psychologist. She has provided therapy services for individuals and couples for over 15 years all over Southern and Northern California in a wide variety of hospital, school, and outpatient settings.

Dr. Hwang believes in helping the individuals to overcome their struggles and pain through the renewal of emotions to a more balanced, positive state. She does this by guiding the patients to identify their emotions, and help them to really feel through them in a safe space. She is gentle, compassionate, and validating for the client. After the client is liberated from the internal suppressed emotional struggles in session, Dr. Hwang guides the clients to become more positive, authentic, and empowered.

By doing the work with Dr. Hwang many individuals have healed and benefitted many positive outcomes in many aspects of their lives. Benefits of mental wellness can result in improvement of relationships, success, and health. Dr. Hwang is eclectic in her approach, she often borrows theoretical models from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Existential Therapy.

Dr. Hwang has attended University of California, Irvine, Boston University, California School of Professional Psychology. She is a member of CAMFT, and AAMFT.

 
 

Camilla Hwang, BA

Camilla received her Bachelors Degree in Business from Cal Poly Pomona. She also has her teaching credential from Cal State Long Beach and taught children for many years. She works with Dr. Hwang as an office administrator here at Therapy For Healing. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, and traveling.
